Liberal Democrat candidate challenges rivals to Young People's Debate
Dear James Morris and Ian Cooper
The Date is now set, and I am looking forward to a clean campaign between each of us as we seek to become the next member of parliament for Halesowen and Rowley Regis.
Too often in politics the people who make the decisions are the people who's lives those decisions affect the least, perhaps this is most striking across generations.
I want to make sure that in this election, young people have a real chance to have their say. I want them to have the opportunity to questions us and engage in the democratic process.
That's why I'm challenging you to a young people's debate.
A debate exclusively for young people under 21, many of whom will be voting for the first time.
While the government may have voted against votes for 16-17 year olds, my commitment to ensuring everyone has a voice in our democracy remains unchanged - so I also want encourage all young people, even those who cannot vote, to come and challenge us.
If each of you accept, then I will contact local organisations to help organise this event.
I look forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Ryan Priest
Liberal Democrat Candidate for Halesowen and Rowley Regis
