Stourbridge can Stop Brexit with Chris
Stourbridge Liberal Democrats have announced that veteran campaigner and former councillor Chris Bramall will battle to be the next MP for Stourbridge in the event of an Autumn Snap Election.
Chris is one of the regions most vocal anti-Brexit campaigners and will wear those credentials in the next general election.
"I was devastated by the 2016 referendum result, obtained, I believe, by sharp practice, lies, and false promises. It was a narrow vote, which divides the older generation from the younger generation; divides the English Regions and Wales from London, Scotland and Northern Ireland; threatens our economy, and undermines our position in the world."
Chris joined the Liberal Democrats in 1992, a decision he made because he believed they were the only party taking the threat of climate change seriously.
The Former Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems on Dudley Council, on former councillor in Norton ward has a track record campaigning on local issues, particularly against the closure of local libraries, and for increased investment in public transport.
Chris also wants to take the fight to the Conservatives on their record when it comes to protecting the Greenbelt.
"Local Tories don't have their heart in the fight when it comes to protecting our Greenbelt from greedy developers. 1500 houses proposed on the Foxcote Field, a motorway extension in the Stourbridge Greenbelt - our constituency needs someone who can be a local champion of local issues."
A former teacher and solicitor now retired, Chris lives in Stourbridge with his wife Helen and is involved with his local worship group at St Michael and All Angels, Norton, where he and Helen were married 28 years ago.
