Chelmsford Lib Dems at national talks with Leadership Contenders

A contingent of local Lib Dems went to London last week for the national Lib Dems policy day. During the day they were treated to a pitch by the contenders for the party leadership. Stephen Robinson (local parliamentary candidate in 2005) said, "This policy day was planned anyway as part of a process to establish key Lib Dem priorities over the next few years."

REPORT OF LIBERAL DEMOCRAT NHS SURVEY

In October 2005 Scarborough and Whitby Liberal Democrats circulated a questionnaire to all GP practices, Dentists, Opticians and Pharmacists in the constituency, asking their opinions of the proposed re-organisation of the PCTs. 38% were returned and, according to the Lib Dem's 2005 general election candidate Tania Exley-Moore, the message that came back was very clear:

Web site servers crash

The servers hosting Wolverhampton Lib Dems' Web site crashed on Friday 20 January. Prater-Raines, who who own the servers managed to get things up an running on the afternoon of Saturday 21st. but data and news stories after Jan 5th seem to have been lost.

New survey shows ministers failing to get to grips with NHS reforms - Webb

Responding to a survey in the Health Service Journal which shows that 75% of NHS bosses say patient care will suffer because of the current cash crisis, Steve Webb MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, said "The cash crisis in the NHS is clearly spiraling out of control and ministers show no sign of getting to grips with the problem."

Minister confirms unfairness of Council Tax

New facts confirming the unfairness of Council Tax have been revealed in Parliament by the Paymaster General, Dawn Primarolo MP. Asked by the Liberal Democrat Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, David Laws to reveal how much people pay in Council Tax as a percentage of their income, Ms Primarolo confirmed what we have been saying for ages: that the Council Tax penalizes the poorest!
