LIB DEM COUNCIL COMMITS TO PROTECTING LOCAL WILDLIFE

A new strategy, which aims to protect local wildlife, encourage the improvement of the Borough's open spaces and allow residential development to continue, was given the green light by members of Woking Borough Council's Executive at its meeting last night (Thursday 1 June).

Help stop homophobic bullying: Petition launch

As part of the Liberal Democrat campaign against homophobic bullying, an online petition has been launched today on the party's main website. Liberal Democrat Shadow Education Secretary, Sarah Teather MP said, "Our petition is calling for all schools to develop measures to tackle homophobic bullying. Taunts and name calling should be challenged immediately so that it's clear such behaviour won't be tolerated.
