Public meeting on proposed Goveton wind farm .

Mike Treleaven, Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Totnes will tonight attend the public meeting called to discuss the proposed wind farm development at Goveton near Kingsbridge. The meeting will be at Buckland Tout Saints Hotel, Buckland Tout Saints starting at 7.00p.m.

Parmjit to make Maiden Speech

Parmjit Singh Gill MP, Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Leicester South, today makes his maiden speech in the House of Commons. The speech, which will follow in the afternoon of the Queen's Speech, will focus on the needs of Mr Gill's constituency as well as celebrate Leicester's cultural diversity.

Visit to Bridgetown Alive exhibition

Bridgetown Alive, the community action group set up under the market and coastal towns initiative, held an open day on Saturday at St. John's Church Hall and Totnes Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, went along to see for himself what had been achieved.

Post Office Closures must stop

Over the last two years more than ten local Post Offices have closed. My team and I have been extensively involved in fighting these closures. Some of the hardest hit have been pensioners who relied on their local Post Office to get their pension. More than that, the weekly visit to the Post Office added to their quality of life. Despite massive public protest and petitions, the Post Office drove the closures through. Their argument was that shutting these local offices was vital if the main network was to survive.
